This is going to be one event you really don't want to miss! Two keynote speakers - Samantha Goldberg and Mark Kingsdorf from Who's Wedding Is It Anyway. We'll also have a great local speaker from Charlotte - Dan Calabro - that is going to tell us the best way to purchase candy for candy bar buffets - and we'll have a fantastic one on display that you can actually eat and test it for yourself! The display will be created by our own Asheville Local Networking Group Co-Director - Emily McCollin! In addition we have some fantastic favors that are going to be supplied by Totally Chocolate Monograms! Much acclaimed Celebrity Event Designer and Television Personality Samantha Goldberg has operated Gold Events for over 18 years. She launched her now highly successful business in Chicago in late 1999 before relocating the planning offices to the East Coast after she and her husband, Andrew, married and started their family. Once a team of two, Samantha now oversees and directs a staff of 11 planners able to coordinate events all over the United States and several key destination locales. Samantha herself now dedicates her time with planning celebrity events, private functions and her own personal appearances in support of her television career. Samantha's expertise is high-design, although she has an innate ability to work within any budget delivering spectacular results whether given 3 days notice or 3 years of planning. Sam's grace-under-pressure is a testament to her quick-thinking and problem-solving abilities; not to mention the most important element in event planning, maintaining a terrific sense of humor. In any setting, celebrity, corporate or private affairs, Samantha's winning personality puts people at ease so they can just enjoy 'their moment' without the stress of handling thousands of tiny details. With the success of her business came the attention from television networks. Samantha is currently in her 6th season with The Style Network's hit series "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?" airing in 40 countries. Sam was also tapped to do their pilot called "Whose Destination Wedding Is It Anyway" shortly renamed "Married Away," and currently being aired.
Mark Kingsdorf
Professional Wedding Consultant and owner of The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants, Mark Kingsdorf is a 1981 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. With nearly 30 years of planning events, off premise catering and as former owner and chef of American Eats, Inc. Mark transitioned easily to a career as one of Philadelphia's top wedding planners.
Since launching The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants in 2000 -Mark has been featured in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Martha Stewart Weddings as well as many national and regional wedding publications; Mark has appeared on NBC 10, Fox Good Day and CN8's - Newsmakers, Money Matters Today and Morning Show and is a featured consultant on the 2006 season of the Style Network's "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?" and" HGTV’s Ultimate Wedding Guide".
His writing has been published locally and nationally in wedding magazines and websites, and he has been a featured speaker and instructor for numerous wedding and event industry conferences.
Mark says the two things he is most proud of are: Being selected to work with the Emily Post Institute on the 5th Edition of Wedding Etiquette - (Collins, January 06); and founding "Let Them Eat Cake" - Philadelphia's largest wedding cake competition because it benefits City of Hope - Breast Cancer Research, Treatment and Education and that City of Hope has honored him by naming the event in honor of his late mother, Lois.
